I know it sounds like a lame excuse, but my scale isn't working, so I have no idea how I'm stacking up in our Biggest Loser: Family Edition contest. (I mean, I have an idea how I'm doing comparatively (Seriously Lacy, you're down over 10 lbs!? That's inhuman!), but without an operating scale I can't actually measure my progress (or lack thereof) against my siblings.)
Is a broken scale grounds for no-fault forfeiting?

I think so. The scale on our Wii balance board told me I lost ten pounds in a day and a half after we changed the batteries, but then the next day told me I was back up ten pounds. Both times the Wii Fit yelled at me for unhealthy weight loss and gain, when it was clearly its fault.
