The Beach

The beach was so much fun. The girls loved the sand and the water, Ellie really loved the dogs and the birds. (Dogs were pointed out with an enthusiastic "Geegee! Geegee!" (for 'doggie') and birds were pointed out with a, "Buh! Buh!" And lots of laughing and clapping and waving. It was adorable.) Annie was very brave, getting really wet both times we went to the beach, despite it being REALLY cold water. Her and her Daddy made sand castles and dug holes, and she helped bury Grandpa alive in the sand . . . when he was ready to get out, feeling a bit claustrophobic, she told him to stay put and kept reassuringly saying, "It's OK, Grandpa, it's OK!" while piling more sand on top of him.
