Dance Party after Bathtime

The girls love to dance (well, actually, all three kids love it.)  In their room is a keyboard, and they often turn on the music on it and dance in their rooms until they nearly collapse from exhaustion (but they don't fall asleep or anything, that'd be crazy.)  Last night, after baths, they had an impromptu dance party.  That lasted over a half hour, and was dissolving into giggles and lots of falling down.  (Isaac was already in bed).  You would've thought they'd fallen happily into bed and go right to sleep.  You'd be wrong.  It was still a good 30-45 minutes before we got these kids to bed after this.

Here are five of the videos (there are a total of 15 on youtube)
I want to be quite clear, I don't expect anyone to watch even 5 whole videos of my kids just spastically dancing, unless they are blood related to the girls.  And even then, only like one or two of their blood relatives will make it through all five.  If you want to be totally diehard though, you can go to youtube and put it on autoplay and watch all 15.  'Cause that's what you'd be doing if you were hanging out on a Sunday morning with my girls :-)  We're on our second time through them . . .

Only a Year or So Late . . .

Look what I finally scanned in and got on my computer!  Annie's dance recital pictures from May 2010!
Marvel at my efficiency . . . and freakishly cute progeny . . .

Dance Picture Day (Or, The Tale of Three Cameras)

My blog is very 'picture only-ish' right now. This is a combination of a cool new camera, being 8 months pregnancy and lazy, and a dear friend in the hospital, which is where my mind wanders to much of the day. But, I wanted to share some great pictures of Annie from today. It was her formal 'picture day' for her dance class, and she looked just beautiful, and I couldn't help myself from taking dozens and dozens of pictures. Of which, I promise, I'm only sharing a fraction of . . .

I took a bunch of pictures at home, with our new nifty camera. Then some at the dance studio with our old camera, which was in my purse. And one on my camera phone. Each was a fairly significant step down from the last :-)

Here's Annie all dressed up . . .

The two of us posing for a self-portrait.
OK, someone tell me when my baby girl shot up into a full grown child?! Is this what 'four' looks like? 'Cause I took one look at this picture when it was downloading and told Greg, "Our baby girl looks 25!!"
Seriously, look how long that hair is . . .

Here we are at the dance studio -- she was super cute for her individual and group photos with the photographer. Then I tried to snap some shots before we left, and that apparently just pissed her off. Or made her pouty. It was a combination.
But these are the ones with my older camera . . .

Then I snapped one with my camera phone to message off to aunts & grandparents . . . it's the poorest quality of anything I took today, but it was so cute, I had to share it anyway . . .
Then, just for fun, a picture I took a week or so ago of the girls cuddling one morning while still in their pajamas. It was on the old camera, so I just came across it today while downloading the dance studio pictures.

Another of Annie's Too Frequent Milestones: Her First Day of Dance

Annie's growing up way too quick.
But dang, it's fun to watch.

She started dance today, and she was so excited about it. Especially about there "being another girl named Annie there!" and "Songs about hippos and Christmas!"
She loves the outfits (we have three different leotards for her already, and the majority feature Disney Princesses . . . it's like she's gone to princess clothes heaven). She loves the ballet shoes (and she's anxiously awaiting her tap shoes, as her "marching didn't sound as good" since her shoes hadn't arrived in time for class today). She thought getting a sucker at the end of class was about as cool as it gets (she also has a similar affection for our bank though). She was so antsy to get there this morning that she bolted to the van and climbed in before I got any good pictures of her dressed and ready to go. Which meant we were well on schedule to arrive a few minutes before we could even get in the building, but it was just so much fun to get caught up in her excitement, that I didn't mind sitting out in the car listening to our Brite Music CD that has some "Watch Me Dance" song on it that we listened to a good 3 or 4 times in a row. The only problem was she kept asking me what the dance terms in the song meant . . . I should've made a list of them so we could've asked her teacher once she got to class! :-)
She informed me after class that she had a lot of fun, and that it wasn't more fun or less fun than preschool, but the same amount of fun. Which is a very, very good thing!
