"Is it time for school yet?" "Can I go to school yet?" "Is it preschool now?" Every five minutes until 9AM. While wearing her backpack for almost two straight hours. A backpack that is half her size (and weight). "I'm done eating now, so I can I go?" "My school is in a house in our neighborhood with a basement that has stairs and there's a sandbox and a castle and is it time to go yet?" "Me and Sarajayne and Kian and Aidan are all going to be there and it's going to be so much fun, and can we go now?"
She agreed to pose for a bunch of pictures until it was time to go. Then we walked across the street, as she happily greeted all of her friends, and bolted for the stairway that goes down to the preschool, never looking back. I am so excited for her. She has been looking forward to this for weeks, and I know she's going to love it. And now I can't wait to pick her up in 24 minutes and hear all about it!
Eating breakfast. With her backpack.
Killing time by calling Grandma to tell her that it was preschool day, but Mom wouldn't let her go until 9 o'clock.
19 minutes and counting . . .

Aw! I'm so glad Annie is excited for school!
Why is it only 24 minutes today? Just to acclimate them to preschool?
It was just 24 minutes left by the time I got the post up . . . I'd had a meeting, then got Ellie down to sleep during the first hour and a half she was gone. It felt so productive :-)
Annie had fun, but DANG she's tight lipped about it, I can't get her to tell me anything she did!
Yay! Annie is so adorable.
♥so sweet! sad when they go off to school for the first time. i have a 16 y.o. and still remember his first day of kindergarten♥
So cute! Jackson starts on Tuesday and he's going with his cousin Owen. I only WISH it were just down the street! Finding a good preschool isn't easy at all. Hope she had a great day!
So cute!
