Halloween Night - Owen just looked up at me with tired eyes as I got him changed into pajamas, and asked hopefully, "So, does this mean it's Christmas now?"

The kids had fun playing in the leaves tonight, Owen is loving his magician costume and wears it EVERYWHERE, and Isaac decided last weekend he was ready to attempt riding a 2 wheeler bike (having spent the last year deciding to just ride a scooter, rather than learn to ride the 2 wheeler), and he did awesome! With his tongue hanging out of his mouth the whole time -- it's genetic
:-)

Owen and I were having a theological discussion today during his bath when he suddenly started recounting the events of Christ's final days. He started to explain about how the bad guys came, grabbed Jesus, and loaded him on to an airplane . . .
Me: "Wait? An airplane?"
Owen: "Yeah, they took him to go talk to the pilot."
Ha! It took me a half second before I understood his confusion and explained the difference between Pilate and a pilot.
:-)There was also some clarifications that needed to be made on the difference between the dearly departed and zombies. He seems not completely convinced by my explanations though.

View from our picnic table -- where the kids learned that turkey, cheese, and guacamole between two gluten free crackers and then dipped in salsa, is pretty much the best hiking lunch ever.

After learning, and loving, the "Guess what?" "What?" "Chicken BUTT!" interaction, Owen was excitedly waiting for his siblings to get home from school to try it out. He blew it spectacularly though, when he approached Annie and said, "Hey Annie." "Yeah?" "Chicken bum!!!"
Annie just looked at him confused, and he laughed for a good two minutes

Fun field trip to the fire station -- and since the firefighters got a call mid-field trip, we got to watch them leave in their fire truck.

Owen: "Mom, you're so smart!"
Me: "Thanks, Bug."
Owen: "Oh wait. I meant tall. You are so tall. Not smart. Tall."
Ohhh-kay.

Ellie, "There’s nothing rich folks love more, than going downtown and slummin’ it with the poor . . ."
Me: "Um, Ellie, maybe don't sing that part of the song while we're running errands."
September 12th
Me: "Wow Bug! You are really getting good at Spanish already!"
Isaac: "Yep, especially when compared to you!"
Um, thanks?
