The best thing about Greg being laid off is that we suddenly have a lot of time to spend as a family. The worst part is it's the last time we want to spend money doing anything. So we were so touched and thrilled when some amazing friends offered us a week at their family cabin in Brian Head, giving us an amazing vacation from job searching and stress of unemployment with a bit of an unemployment vacation :-). We had the BEST time. My sister came up with her two girls the first two days, and my in-laws came up and spent a night too. The rest of the time it was just Greg and our cute kiddos, and we had a blast -- we played in the snow, tubed, played countless board and card games, read a ton, watched Star Wars, played and spent just amazing quality time together. It was so stress free. To top it off, Greg got contacted by a couple recruiters while we were up there and even did a phone interview! (Although it did drop the call once and he had to call back -- I felt we were lucky to have cell reception at all that high up in the mountains!) :-) We're so incredibly grateful for the opportunity, and we did all we could to make the most of it!!
