We headed up to the mountains for a few days up camping, kayaking, paddle boarding, and spending time with family. The kids and I stayed up for the whole time, along with their cousin Bailey, and other people from the family came through at different times for different parts of the trip -- the funnest was when everyone was there Saturday for a morning at Tibble Fork, kayaking, hiking, and paddle boarding, and then over to check out Cascade Springs. The kids had so much fun playing in the campground, hiking through the streams, making fires and roasting marshmallows, and playing with some of their favorite people. Greg was back in town and able to come up Friday night, and him and I stayed up alone with our kids (and my niece, Bailey) that night, and then everyone came back to join us Saturday morning. It was a really fun three days, and I'm so amazed at the cool opportunities we get to share with our kids -- watching them so confidently kayak and paddle board is so much fun for me. It makes me so grateful for my parents and their adventuring spirit that sets the tone for our family, and all the things they do that make these kinds of outings possible. (It was their camper and truck we were using, and they're the ones who haul up all the gear and kayaks). The kids loved being outdoors and playing with their cousins, and it was nice to get away and be in nature for a few days.
